Finally throw out the sticky notes, notebooks and bullet journals full of passwords and switch over to a password manager. Password managers can create, retrieve, and store all of your online passwords safely. All of your passwords and login information will be locked down behind an encryption like a digital vault. They’re easy to use, save trees, and are recommended by industry experts for being more secure. Here’s the top five best password managers in 2021 below.

Password managers work with every internet provider, whether you have EarthLink, Verizon, MetroNet, or even HughesNet Satellite internet.

Table of Contents

  • 1. 1Password
  • 2. LastPass
  • 3. Dashlane
  • 4. NordPass
  • 5. Keeper

1. 1Password

Price: $2.99 a month to $7.99 a month per user
Works with: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, iOS, Android and many browsers

1Password is ranked first on our list for their family plan. With this plan you can encourage your kids to save and use their passwords securely and as a parent you can share information and what they can do with it so your kids can stay safe online and maintain their independence. If you think 1Password might be the password manager for you, the company lets you try it out for 14 days before signing up.

2. LastPass

Price: Free to $8 a month per user
Works with: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, iOS, Android and many browsers

LastPass is second on our list because of it’s free version that allows anyone to use their password manager regardless of what they can or can’t afford. It’s also extremely easy to use even for those who are not very tech savvy. We feel that strongly about keeping your passwords secure. However, their free version has also earned LastPass some tough criticism due to them forcing their free users to choose one device type leaving LastPass users having to choose between desktop and mobile when they didn’t have to before. With all that said, LastPass is still a good password manager to use.

3. Dashlane

Price: Free to $8 a month per user
Works with: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, iOS, Android and many browsers

Dashlane is ranked third on our list for their included VPN and secure document storage that comes with their Dashlane Premium accounts. Both features are particularly handy if you’re in the market for a VPN and or cloud storage. If you’re considering subscribing to Dashlane, but haven’t followed through with it yet, you can with confidence. They have a 30 day money back guarantee if it doesn’t work out or if you’re not completely satisfied with their service.

4. NordPass

Price: Free to $3.59 a month per user
Works with: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, iOS, Android and many browsers

NordPass is ranked fourth on our list for their superior password generator and password health. While many password managers can generate passwords for you, the way each password manager assesses how secure or weak your password is and if it appeared in data breaches is different. NordPass is easy to use and doesn’t require you to be a tech wizard to pull it off. Although limited, NordPass does have a free version of their service which omits a lot of their important features and only limits users to one active device. If you’d like to try out the service, we suggest going with the premium because it comes with their 30 day money back guarantee. This way you’ll at least be able to see how good their service truly is before making a decision without having to decide which device to try it out on.

5. Keeper

Price: $2.91 a month to $8.62 a month
Works with: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, iOS, Android and many browsers

Keeper is ranked fifth on our list for their biometric login feature that allows users to get into their Keeper account with a fingerprint and or face ID login if they decide to set that up. Keeper is also a good choice if you’re looking for extra features besides securely storing your password information. Users of the service can also store and share files securely within Keeper’s Cloud Security Vault. If funds are tight or you’re simply not sure if Keeper is going to be right for you, you can still try it free for 30 days.
